How often do you meet as a member?

Each member is able to choose their commitment level around involvement. Some members are more active jumping on weekly deal calls where others may just choose to allocate funds when we invest as a group.  We host weekly investment calls, regular member meetings and networking sessions, quarterly pitch days, and a variety of additional educational and community-based events throughout the year. You can come to as many or as little as you want, based on your schedule and your goals for membership, investing, and investing education.

We offer a mix of virtual and offline events, however, most events are held virtually or in a hybrid format and recorded so that members have access to the content even when they can’t join us live. Most offline events today are in and around Colorado, but local chapters are encouraged to gather and meet offline and we occasionally travel to other markets to lead local events elsewhere.

We source investment opportunities from a large number of channels and networks. Every member in our community brings a new network for us to plug into which we encourage. We proactively align ourselves with other community and investment groups and regularly join industry events and network with folks plugged into startups looking for capital.

Our investment group focuses on early-stage seed+ investments. However, we’ve evaluated and invested in pre-seed through Series A (and beyond) where we see alignment.  We look for business opportunities with a large enough TAM (total addressable market) for a decent exit opportunity. We’ve invested across verticals, but have leaned into impactful businessesthat are women- and or diverse-led given the gaps that exist in the funding ecosystem. Our members have expressed the most interest in fem tech, healthcare and health tech, sustainability, and clean tech.

We typically bring 4-5 companies to join our quarterly pitch event, and there are additional opportunities for off-cycle investments, and members have the ability to invest as a group and / or through direct deals. Our group determines our investment allocations based on collective interest from our member community. We are typically investing between $50-100k per deal at the moment and expect these syndications (group investment checks) to grow to $100-200k per deal as we evolve. Members may participate in investments with checks as low as $2,500 for a first-timer and with a minimum investment of $5k beyond their initial investment.

We run a quarterly pitch cycle, with our members running sourcing activities and screening calls continuously. We offer a mechanism for our investing members to vote on which deals interest them before determining whom to invite to our pitch event. Based on interest out of pitches, we then determine which deals we want to move into diligence. As a member, you have the opportunity to get involved in the diligence process. You can join and learn alongside a mentor, run it solo, or participate as an observer. Our process is meant to empower learning through action, and we encourage you to raise your hand and get involved!

If we don’t invest as a group, you are more than welcome to invest directly! Members are expected to invest through us if and when we form a syndication (or group investment vehicle)given all the work that goes into operating, educating, spearheading sourcing, diligence, deal curation, etc.

There are NO investment or participation requirements to learn, engage, and / or invest at your own pace. You are also welcome to participate passively, just allocate capital, or learn through observation.

We are networked into an organization that offers a board certification course if you would like to explore this journey. Smaller, private businesses may also be interested in securing you as a board member without any form of certification. We may provide guidance around your board journey including but not limited to introductions, negotiating your compensation package, your board resume, and basic information to expect around your experience. Our member onboarding experience includes intake surveys inquiring if you have interest in these opportunities, and if you do,  we will make introductions based on where we see alignment with companies in our network.

We offer members the opportunity to plug into companies in our network for fractional and advisory roles. We will provide members guidance around their advisory or fractional journey, including but not limited to introductions, negotiating your comp package, navigating your advisory resume, and ways to provide value in your role. When you become a member, you will receive a member intake survey where you can indicate interest in these opportunities.

Are your events held in-person or virtually?

We offer a mix of virtual and offline events. Most offline events today are in and around Colorado, but local chapters are encouraged to gather and meet offline as well.

That’s up to you and how active or passive you want your experience to be! We host weekly investment calls, monthly member meetings, quarterly pitch days, and a variety of educational and community events throughout the year. You can come to as many or as little as you want, based on your schedule and your goals for membership.

From both our members, our Founder Ecosystem, and our network. Companies can submit their information on our website, members make introductions, we meet founders at events in our communities, we share deal flow with other mission-aligned organizations, and more.

We look for early stage (Seed, Seed+, and potential Series A rounds) companies that offer multiple expansion opportunities, a big enough TAM or addressable market for decent exit opportunities, and decent margins. We’ve invested across multiple verticals, but are more mission-driven and look for companies that are women-led or supporting and benefiting women.

We typically see 4-5 companies join the quarterly pitch event, but there are opportunities for off-cycle investments, and members have the ability to invest as a group or through direct deals.

We consider companies on a quarterly pitch cycle, with our members running screening calls, diligence, and voting on which companies they want to make it to pitch day each quarter. The choice to participate in screening calls and diligence is yours! You can do it with a mentor, solo, as an observer, or not at all. Our process is meant to empower learning through action though, so we encourage you to raise your hand and get involved!
