Syndication fees assessed cover the paperwork of pooling capital into a deal. The carried interest is how we sustain the sourcing, diligence, and support that make a curated syndicate worth being part of.
Our syndication cost covers the legal and administrative work of standing up the investment vehicle. A brand-new syndicate is a flat $5,500; amending or upsizing an existing one typically runs $3,000–$5,000. Either way, it’s split across everyone who participates in proportion to their check — so your share scales with your investment, and you’ll know your exact number as it will be disclosed in your deal paperwork.
Comparable groups charge $6k–$10k to stand up a new syndicate. We price below that and size the cost to keep the ratio reasonable.
Carried interest is our group’s share of the upside, and it kicks in only after every investor has received 100% of their original capital. We take 18% of what’s left; you keep the other 82%. If a deal returns nothing, our carry is nothing.
For larger, outsized checks, we’re always happy to connect if there’s any concern.
We’re transparent in sharing that we don’t make money on this. These two costs are built to mostly cover our operational lift — not to turn a profit — so we can keep syndicating into companies that matter, on terms that stay fair to you.
A lot of groups outsource the whole vehicle to a third-party administrator and pass the markup to you. We do the work ourselves, with our own team, and keep it lean on purpose.
Every quarter, screened companies pitch and our members run the diligence — a 4–6 week process, with real experts from across our community at the table before any capital moves.
We form and manage the investment vehicle ourselves rather than paying an outside admin. That’s the single biggest reason our costs land below the market.
Come tax season, we handle the partnership’s K-1 tax reporting and get each investor what they need — no scramble, no surprise line items.
From closing to ongoing updates to the eventual exit, the same people who sourced and vetted the deal stay with it — and stay reachable.
Where the 18% goes
It funds the work that an individual investor simply can’t do alone at this scale — and it’s shared with the members who source deals and lead diligence.
Finding, vetting, and winning allocation in deals worth your capital — most never make it past this stage.
Deep, documented diligence that goes further than most angel groups bother to — the homework behind every commitment.
Managing the vehicle, closings, updates, and the reporting that keeps you informed from close through exit.
Education and operations that open capital allocation to women and underrepresented investors — the reason we exist.
A portion of carry also goes to the team at SI who makes it all possible
