She’s Independent Member Interview Questions 

Q: How long have you been a She’s Independent member? And how did you find out about She’s Independent? 

6 months. Learned about it via a virtual presentation that Natalie led, and was blown away by her genuine passion to bring more women into investing. 

Q: What is your background? Brag a little ; ) 

I’m a Chief Growth Officer and angel-investor. I work with Consumer Health and Wellness brands to plan and execute on their go-to-market strategy to accelerate growth.

As the Founder of The Inlay, an NYC startup innovation lab, I work at the intersection of GTM strategy, brand marketing, and growth. I’ve partnered with dozens of pre-seed to series A brands such as Getaway, Common Living, Veracity, Included Health and The Muse. Many have gone on to reach major fundraising milestones with notable VCs and investors such as L Catterton, Human, Silas Capital, 23andMe and more. Through this work, I fostered meaningful relationships with founders, and began angel investing in order to further support category defining brands and underrepresented founders.

Q: Where are you on your investing journey? And how has She’s Independent influenced or supported this?

After many years of working closely with VC backed startups on their GTM strategy, I realized that I had developed a unique skill set that well positioned me to evaluate investment opportunities in early stage startups, and began angel investing in 2022. Being a part of She’s Independent has been invaluable in providing me with a community of experts to bounce ideas off of. This group has offered diverse perspectives, enabling me to make more strategic investment decisions and empower me to navigate the landscape with greater confidence.

Q: What was your first experience with our empowered action approach to learning? 

Being able to jump right in and lead diligence on the deals that interest me the most has been so rewarding. I love the ability to just take initiative on what excites me.  This hands-on approach has allowed me to dive into the intricacies of the investment process and gain practical insights that have been instrumental in my growth as an investor. 

Q: What has been your biggest ah-ha moment or benefit from the She’s Independent experience so far? 

Seeing how people with different types of expertise view the strengths and weaknesses of a company has been incredibly eye opening. 

Q: What investment stands out in your mind so far?

Hard to just choose one, but I’m really excited about KidKaboo and how they are freeing up parents’ schedules through ride sharing for kids.
