Getting in the door...
You should think about proactively reaching out to recruiters and/or hiring managers and employees of businesses you're interested in to learn more and to seek support for your candidacy.
What do we mean by 'Doing Your Research?'
We're big fans of preparation. Make sure you've done your homework and know a bit about the company and role you're applying for. What excites you about the role, product, or team?
Don't anything about the industry upfront? That's fine! Run some google searches, look at Crunchbase for funding information, and LinkedIn company pages. Google their name to see what comes up and read over some articles.

Mentorship & #METOO
He asked me for drinks and it felt uncomfortable. Was this okay? HR isn't often your friend. Unfortunately, HR is there to protect the company.
Even if your company has a mentorship program (most don't), there are a lot of things you likely can't discuss there.
That's why we're here! Our Office Hours are a place to Ask Anything, get support, level up confidence & salary, align with your professional superpowers, and connect with other badass women.
We also appreciate blog posts and insight from sites like FairyGodBoss, Ellevate, and Thrive Global.
